My preferred packs for archery hunting are the Eberlestock X2 and the Eberlestock Bandit. The issue I have is that I do not like the Eberlestock Butt Bucket for carrying my bow…it just doesn’t secure my bow the way I would prefer, particularly if I’m riding on a bike.

Prior to switching to Eberlestock, I used a Badlands pack and I really liked the slim-profile Badlands Bow Boot. Since both Eberlestock packs have PALS webbing at the bottom of the back, I decided to modify the bow boot to be interchangeable with my packs.

Materials Needed

Step 1: Separate the Two Sides of the Clip

Step 2: Remove the Stock Clips from Bow Boot

Step 3: Thread the Adjustable End of the Buckle to the Bow Boot

Step 4: Cut two 15in lengths of paracord for attaching the other clip to your pack

Step 5: Attach the paracord to the webbing of the pack with a girth hitch

Step 6: Thread the buckle onto the paracord

Step 7: Wrap the paracord another time terminating on the outside of the buckle

Step 8: Start tying a Cobra Weave

Step 9: Continue tying to remove all slack

Step 10: Tie off the two lines with a reef knot on the back side of the buckle

Step 10: Melt the tag ends together

Step 11: Repeat the process for the other buckle being sure to keep them equal in length
