In preparation for public land hunting, I sat about modifying a bike that would allow me to trek in deeper and hang a stand as well as efficiently get an animal out at the conclusion of the hunt.

This build is broken into two parts:

Part I: Cart Attachment Build

This section describes how I’ve attached my Hawk Crawler Cart to my bike for ease pulling game out of the field.

Materials Needed

Step 1: Drill a hole in the rear of the Schwinn Bike Rack to accommodate the large PTO Pin with the square clip

Step 2: Place two small, round, PTO pins in the Hawk Crawler cart to prevent the cart from closing during riding

Step 3: Place the tension band around the handle of the cart and slide into the bike rack (you may need to remove the plastic insert included in the rack

Step 4: Connect the tension band to the bike rack using the PTO pin

Part II: Bow Rack Build

This section focuses on how I adapted my handlebar setup to allow the carrying of a bow.

Materials Needed

Step 1: Cut a 1″ aluminum round tube to the length of your handlebars, paint and cap it

Step 2: Attach the light bar clamp securely to your handlebars

Step 3: Using the 3/8” bolt and nut, attach the other light clamp set to the top of the clamps attached to the handlebars

Step 4: Attach the aluminum bar with the open light clamp so it is parallel to the handlebars

Step 4: Using your bow as a guide, securely attach the Kolpin Rhino XLr clamps in the proper position on the aluminum bar
